Your first project's intent was to make your photoshop skills disappear into the realism of the photograph. Now you will switch gears and try your best to make your photoshop work look UNreal! I'm talking about doing a graffiti portrait! There are tutorials on the web, but use your creativity and try to come up with techniques on your own. You are all accomplished photoshop users at this point, so be creative!Your graffiti portrait MUST be of a living thing. I won't say it has to be human, but it must be animal in nature. Also, photos with high contrast work best. If your photo doesn't have high contrast, work with it in photoshop to give it high contrast first. You'll thank me later!
I also want you to give your graffiti portrait a background, so it will look as if it was spray stenciled on a wall somewhere. Take your time with the wall and give it some character and texture. Make it dirty, broken, scratched, cracked, etc. I want it to look worn. Your graffiti portrait can look new, like it was recently painted, or it can look old, like it's worn along with the wall.
Take your time and make these look realistic! You will have both today's class and Wednesday's class to work on these. You may look at resources online if you wish, ask me about other techniques and even come up with some of your own!
This project needs to look authentic before you turn it in. It must look like a painting on a wall.
Get to work!
