It's great to be back in COMPUTER GRAPHICS II!

Welcome back to all my returning students! This semester should be a lot of fun. There won't be ANY typography-related projects! I PROMISE! :) We will be focusing on high-end graphic techniques this semester as well as learning some basics of page layout, what makes good design and how to recognize it. So let's get started!

Your first assignment comes in two parts.

First, I want you to answer some questions for me.

On a piece of 8.5x11 paper, I want you to write the answers to the following questions:

(please make sure to put your name and ART 284 at the top.)

1- Which program do you prefer? Photoshop or Illustrator?

2- What do you enjoy about that program?

3- What do you find difficult about that program?

4- List a few techniques you'd like to learn in that program. (Try to give at least 3.)

5- What are some of the things you don't like about the "other" program?

6- What do you find difficult about the "other" program?

Second, I want you to find three examples of graphics you might like to how to create using Photoshop or Illustrator. These can be from product packaging, advertisements, etc. They must be print (no digital.)

Please bring both your answer sheet and your three examples to class with you on Wednesday.
